How it works
Enter the teams, one per line, and add each match: which team batted first, the runs and overs of both innings, and whether either side was bowled out. The table updates as you type.
- Points. A win earns the points you set, 2 by default. A tie or a no result earns each side the tie points, 1 by default.
- Net run rate. Each team’s runs per over scored minus runs per over conceded, across all completed matches. A side that is bowled out is charged the full quota of overs.
- Ranking. Teams are ranked by points, then net run rate, then wins. Some competitions use other tie-breakers, such as head-to-head results, so check your rules.
To work out one team’s net run rate in detail, match by match, use the net run rate calculator.
The formula
points = wins × win points + (ties + no results) × tie points
NRR = (runs scored ÷ overs faced) − (runs conceded ÷ overs bowled)
summed over all completed matches
bowled out → charged the full quota of overs
no result → points shared, left out of NRR
overs → 18.4 means 18 overs and 4 balls = 18.667 oversWorked example
The example table has four teams and six T20 matches. Strikers beat Titans and Royals and lose to Warriors, so they top the table with 4 points.
- Titans and Warriors each have one win, one loss and one no result, so both have 3 points.
- Titans scored 348 runs in 40 overs and conceded 347 in 40 overs: 8.700 − 8.675 = +0.025.
- Warriors were bowled out for 142 in 18.2 overs, which counts as 20 overs, and chased 155 in 17.4 overs. They scored 297 in 37.667 overs and conceded 296 in 39.167: 7.885 − 7.557 = +0.328.
- The quick chase lifts Warriors above Titans on net run rate, so Warriors are second.
Running a league table for your club
Add matches as results come in and use Copy link to result to save the table. The link keeps every team and score, so you can share it in a group chat or reopen it next week to add the next round. For a public page, you can also embed the table maker on your club’s website for free, using the code further down this page.
Rain-affected matches
When a match is shortened by rain and a result is reached with a revised target, most competitions count the team batting first as scoring one run less than the target, off the overs the chasing side was given. Enter those adjusted figures for the team batting first. Abandoned matches with no result go in as No result.
Questions
How are cricket points tables ranked?
Most tournaments rank teams by points first, then net run rate. Some use the number of wins or the head-to-head result before net run rate, so check the playing conditions of your competition.
Does a no-result match count in net run rate?
No. Abandoned and no-result matches earn each team the agreed points but are left out of net run rate completely.
What if a team is bowled out?
Tick All out for that innings. The team is then charged the full quota of overs for net run rate, for example 20 overs in a T20, even if it was bowled out in 18.2.
Can I use it for a tournament with groups?
Yes. Make one table per group by entering only that group’s teams and matches, then copy the link for each group.
How do I save or share the table?
Use Copy link to result. The link reopens the table with every team and result filled in.
